Parents and Carers
Welcome to the first newsletter from the new school. The staff and students continue to settle into the grounds and new buildings. It is an amazing open space with new experiences around every corner.
Brenda walked around last Wednesday and collected responses from students to the first two days.
“Henbury is fun. The swings are good.” Deacon.
“It’s fantastic. It is amazing. The pool is fun.” Blue 3.
“It is much bigger and there’s new play equipment. Way more space. It’s a great school.” Purple 5.
“It’s cool. We like the playground, the pool and the BMX track. The shaker thing is good, the new classrooms are good – we like the purple and the new Commboxes(Interactive TV).” Purple 4.
“I like the swings, I love the playground. The bubblers are cold – everywhere. We LIKE it.” Purple 3.
“The playground is good! Cooking is great, the classrooms are better. The new bus stop is better – it’s bigger. The trampoline is great. Everybody is smiling.” Blue 4.
Gage was asked if he liked the new school…a resounding “yes” on his Tobii eye gaze. Latoya giggled as she said yes definitely too!
“It looks nice, more space, and you can run around. It looks beautiful, colourful. I get to walk to and from school by myself.” Green 4.
“I love it, its wow! It’s fabulous! There’s more space, feels free! I can run. The room, the trampoline and the gardens. Brenda has a good couch.” Yellow 2.
Open Afternoon Henbury School Thursday 11 August
This Thursday 11 August parents and carers will have an opportunity to look around the new school during an open afternoon which will commence at 4pm and finish by 6pm. Another opportunity to view the facilities will be at the end of Term 3 for the Official Opening. This will also be Henbury’s Family Night.
School Survey
All parents and guardians, teachers and students are encouraged to have their say about the school community by participating in the 2016 School Survey.
The survey, open from Monday 15 August to Friday 2 September, allows Henbury School to gain an understanding through feedback of what everyone thinks about the school. The results will help inform future planning and drive improvement at Henbury.
The school survey is relatively simple and easy and will take approximately 10 - 15 minutes to complete. The survey can be conducted online, see link below, or you can request a printed version from school.
