Senior Teacher's Report
Dear Parents/Carers
On 9-10 November Principals from around the Territory convened at Henbury School for a two day conference; during which time various professional development occurred to ensure our Principals are in the best position to provide a quality education for all Territory students. Our magnificent Coffee Crew catered for morning tea on both days; thank you to Felicity Faull and her fabulous student crew for taking on this demanding role.
EAP/TEAP Report Meetings
EAP/TEAP report back meetings occurred in weeks five and six. These meetings are designed to report on EAP/TEAP goals addressed during the year. Reports will be sent out in a new format using our Accelerus reporting system.
Netball Development Sessions
Netball skills development sessions are being conducted by Haylee Gillies, Community Development Manager from Netball NT in the hall each week. These creative skills based sessions are engaging students in the HPE curriculum.

SCHOOL REVIEW
The school review was held 23 and 24 March 2016. The outcomes of the review will be included in each newsletter. Included this week are Domain 8 – effective teaching practices. This data will be used when writing the Strategic Improvement Plan towards the end of the year.
BLUE 4
Wow, another extremely busy Semester in Blue 4. We all transitioned very smoothly from The Old Henbury to our new school, and we love our big classroom and all the fun play equipment that we get to use during Morning tea and Lunch play. We have grown in strength with our learning and development and have had a ton of fun along the way!
This Semester saw us continue with competing in the Rising Stars Basketball Competition. Everyone has really grown in all aspects of this sport and a huge development was noticed with playing fair and encouraging team mates to have a go! Basketball finished in early Term 4, and we have transitioned smoothly to learn Netball with Sarah from Darwin Netball Association.
Lastly, we went to watch Snuggle pot and Cuddle Pie with our friends from Blue 3 where we were fortunate to meet the actors backstage after the show.
GREEN 3
In Semester 2, students of Green 3 were excited to be in their new classroom and school. Activities such as Total Rec and Bike riding and exploring play equipment had a new feel to it. Weekly activities such as cooking, work experience, Enterprise Ed and the Gym continued to develop and bring new challenges.
Each week we find new places to visit for community access and new recipes in our nutrition program. It has been an exciting second half of the year and improvements with students learning is continuing.
The students' access to the farm and the school house is a special part of our week.

MUSIC COUNT US IN – ROCK DA CAS
On Thursday 3 November 18 students from Henbury Choir went to Casuarina square to join the NT Music School to celebrate National Simultaneous Song day. The choir excelled and made all who were involved proud. They signed and sang with confidence, participated as audience members hearing other youth sharing the gift of music. Everyone enjoyed their muffin treat for morning tea and the chance to shine.
STAFF PROFILE – ALYSHA TIZZONI
My name is Alysha Tizzoni, I am 26 years old and I was born in the United States of America. In 2010 I married my best friend, left America and moved to Sydney, Australia. In 2012 we moved to the Northern Territory and I was subsequently employed by Henbury School where I have worked until this day.
Working at Henbury has been an incredible experience and I am challenged every day. I work with many different young adults all with unique personalities and challenges. I feel honoured to be a part of these young adults development and working hand in hand with the other experienced teachers and senior staff.
This year is my first year working off campus at our Darwin High School Outreach – This has been both challenging and exciting. I have thoroughly enjoyed my year working with these students, I am very proud of all of their accomplishments.
In my personal time I love spending time with my Labrador "Lily", hosting dinner parties and playing board games.
