CSC 3
Students at CSC 3 have been energetic and hardworking this Term. Our four year 10’s are comfortable in their new setting in Senior School. Also our three year 11s have been displaying some maturity and leadership such as Gilbery presenting a Welcome to Country.
They have had access to many opportunities in VETiS studies and class subjects. This includes; Automotive, Retail, Work Skills and Hairdressing. In Clontarf students have been on camps, sporting events and have been involved in cooking and fundraising for a charity. For work experience Dominic has been attending Coffee crew and Gilbery has been attending Barbara James Aged Care. William is also accessing Health and Physical Education and enjoys running about with CSC students. Robbie and Dominic attend Science and created a Rube Goldberg Machine. Students are now working on attaining a White Card as part of their Integrated Learning course. Aiden also attained his leaners licence.

IT’S THE PURPLE 2 CREW
This Semester has been very busy for all the young men in Purple 2. We are excited to share some of our updates with you!
Over Semester 2 we have been working on helping our whole class access the community. Tom has started attending shopping with us each week and is loving the experience. At the end of Term 3 we also had the opportunity to attend the 360° cinema at the Waterfront. It was a different experience for us all! Another place we enjoyed was a long walk through the beautiful Botanical Gardens. As part of digital technology, some of our students have been learning to use a range of devices to take accurate photos while we are out and about. When we return to class we share the wonderful shots we have taken.
In the arts this Semester we have been learning how to play the Dejembe drum. All of our students sit together and practice bass and tone hits mixed with a range additional body percussion. At the moment we have almost mastered a basic musical sequence which we play to a range of different songs selected by students. Our favourite so far has been playing ‘bass’, ‘bass’ ‘clap’ to ‘We will rock you’ by Queen.
We have been very active this Semester, participating in a range of health and physical education programs including Gymnastics, Total Recreation, Rock and Water and Bike Riding. Our big school is great to ride around on the bikes as a whole class. Thank you to the Berends family for donating another trike to our school. This has allowed our class to all ride at the same time!
In literacy and numeracy lessons, we have all been working really hard on our individual goals. We are proud of our efforts and what we have achieved this year.
Thanks for reading our update!
