SENIOR TEACHER’S REPORT
Parents/Carers
A big hello to all who comprise the Henbury School community. 2018 is almost at an end with some very important events yet to occur. Term Four has seen our T/EAP report back meetings occur with great success. Teachers and SESOs reported to parents on student achievement throughout the year. It's great to see our students making so much progress with their T/EAP goals which are integral to their future. Formal reports are currently being processed and will be sent out in the last week of school.
The art show held in the hall was a great success which showcased the many talents of our students. The variation of artistic styles was evident throughout the day with a multitude of art works on display. A big thank you to Lauren Moss and Kate Worden (MLA), who assisted the judging panel and our star senior teacher, Lauren Hofmeyer, who organised the event. See the article below with winners names and photos.
On Tuesday 11th December @ 1pm, Henbury School will be holding its first ever ‘Henbury Kitchen Rules’ Cook Off. Four classes from our Senior Outreach schools will prepare, cook and serve a special dish. Main ingredients will be the Perch from the school’s aquaponics facility which are ready for harvest. Produce from the school’s farm will also be used.
A panel of judges will decide this year’s ‘Henbury Kitchen Rules’. If you would like to attend this exciting event please return the invitation form attached below. Hard copies have also been sent home.

BUSY YEAR FOR CSC1
2018 has been a busy year for us here at CSC1, Coffee Crew, VSS courses and of course our NTCET and NTCET Modified school work.
The busiest of our bunch have been our year 12’s Dawyte Clancy and Jolina Lay. Who we say goodbye to at the end of this year
Dawyte and Jolina have been bright stars of the Henbury School community and recognisable smiles here at CSC.
We decided to dedicate our last newsletter to them.
So here’s to D and J, may the roads you travel be lined with Gloria Jeans Mochas, the sound of K-Pop and Jessie J you will be missed!

SMS NEWSLETTER
SMS fellas have had a fantastically busy Semester out and about. We continued the weekly catch ups with DMS2 on our community access. We visited Parliament house to view the Territory Story Exhibition, Darwin Museum for the Telstra Exhibition, Palmerston Library, East Point including the Military Museum for the 100 anniversary of the Armistice and to a highlight last week, the Care Flight Hangers.
We found the Military Museum interesting and spoke with a fellow visitor who had served in Vietnam with the same regiment that were remembered in the gun bunker. The movie at the end was realistic and felt like we were there.
At the Care Flight hanger we had a great visit with Andrew who showed us the different jobs people do at Care Flight and then we went into the hangers. The helicopter was being repaired. We were surprised with how big it was and were lucky enough to see, hear and smell the plane as it took off.
Our year 9’s have visited CSC for transition classes and are very excited to be going to CSC next year. They came back to SMS and told us that ‘CSC was better, because it just was’. At the same time the year 7’s and 8’s went to Henbury and worked with students from Yellow 3. They enjoyed getting to know each other and working with an on campus class.
We continued to learn about ourselves and our World. We are strong when we support each other and work as a team.
