Janine Inggs has been at Henbury since 2016. She has worked across high and low support classrooms. Janine has been a valuable asset to our school and her involvement in the 2018 HCL was remarkable. She is heading to Canberra to be closer to family. We hope you have plenty of warm clothes! All the best Janine.
Jessica Westlund has been at Henbury School since 2016. She is an incredible specialist school teacher. Jessica is one of our aspiring leaders and willingly shares her knowledge with her colleagues. She is going on maternity leave and will then take up a position at Forrest Parade. We wish Jessica all the best, they are very lucky to have her.

BLUE 3
Wow! What a year the boys of Blue 3 have had with lots of laughs and learning. This year has been packed with different activities like physical education lessons in the hall to trips to the military museum. The class has really enjoyed the humanities unit of work in term 2 & 3 looking at the medieval ages and the water cycle. The two highlights of the year were our two excursions, one to the military museum and the other to the Darwin art gallery. It was here that the students got to see and experience a greater depth in their studies.

Bring typical teenagers they have a large amount of energy that we put towards regular dance or sport breaks, time in the hall playing games and time in the engine room. This has been of help to the students with a lot of different staff commenting on how much they have improved over the year, with plenty more positive growth to come. For the HGD class the students created, directed a drug and alcohol awareness movie that was a lot of fun to be in. We hope that everyone has seen the good that the students of blue three have achieved in 2019 and we all look forward to seeing them succeed.
BLUE 4
This year in Blue 4 we have been cooking up a storm!!!! We all love cooking and trying out new recipes every week. Everything we cook is healthy so we have to search for healthy recipes.
Each week we have also been cooking quiches to be sold at Henbury on Aralia. We are extremely proud of this because they sell so well!
All of us take turns cooking and we work together to create beautiful meals.

KIDS TEACHING KIDS CLUSTER EVENT
Last Friday, 20th September, more than 150 students from Wanguri Primary, Nemarluk and Forrest Parade School participate in this year’s Kids Teaching Kids Cluster Event hosted by our school. Visiting students were highly engaged and enjoyed fun learning activities led by the Student Commissioners, Yellow 3, Yellow 4, Yellow 5, Dripstone Outreach 1 and Purple 4. Our students led and presented environmental workshops about recycling, upcycling, waste management, aquaponics, food security, gardening, animal care, robotics, carbon chemistry, natural disasters and human anatomy. Our student commissioners spoke confidently on ways how to save the environment and encourage their peers to take collective action in making the Earth ready for the future. Thank you Kids Teaching Kids and My Solar Direct for the $ 1,000 cluster event grant we received.
This October, eight of our student commissioners are representing the Northern Territory to the Kids Teaching Kids Melbourne Water Conference. The school delegation will be travelling to Melbourne on October 25 and returning Darwin on October 31. The group will present an environmental workshop about aquaponics at Melbourne University to selected groups of mainstream students across the country. They will also be attending the Environmental Action Day at Collingwood Children’s Farm at Abbotsford, Victoria and will have a science tour around Melbourne CBD. We are grateful being granted free registration to attend this national event and provided free accommodation at YHA Melbourne Metro.

STAFF PROFILE – ALICIA MCCANN
Hi everybody, my name is Alicia McCann and I've just started at Henbury School as the AIEW. I am a local woman born and raised in Darwin with 3 children of my own and am extremely passionate about helping our mob in believing and achieving their dreams. I like to joke around and have fun with the students and my favourite pastime is playing my guitar.
STAFF PROFILE – DAVID PANJER
Hi my name is David Panjer and I have really enjoyed coming over to Henbury School and taking on the role of Assistant Principal.
I grew up in Queanbeyan in NSW and moved to the Northern Territory 12 years ago. After spending time in Alice Springs and Maningrida I settled with my family in Darwin. For the last 9 years I have worked at Nemarluk School both as a classroom teacher and in leadership positions. It has been fantastic seeing the growth of so many students who I met and taught at Nemarluk School. I have always been passionate about ensuring every individual has the opportunity to reach their full potential and I love that Henbury School is a place that makes this happen.
Outside of school I love getting outdoors and spending time in the bush trail running.
