Kids Teaching Kids Cluster Event
On Friday 8 September, Henbury School hosted this event with 180 students from schools in Darwin and the Rural area attending. CEP schools were Wagaman, Wanguri and Nemarluk. Students also came from Karama, Nightcliff Primary and Humpty Doo Primary. The themes on the day were related to environmental sustainability and helping students find simple ways to save the environment through highly engaging activities and workshops. Henbury students presented workshops on global warming, climate change and finding solutions on how to prevent global warming happening.
Thank you to Joan Ocampo who organised the event. Joan said, “I believe this day was clear evidence of how our school creates a positive impact upon other schools. We demonstrate that through collaboration we can create a more sustainable environment”. A big thank you also to all Henbury Staff who helped out during the day and Coffee Crew who made homemade cookies for the students to have with their fruit at recess time.
NT Dragonflies Netball Team
The Marie Little OAM Shield was held in Perth. The three days of competition saw teams from six states and territories participate, with the Northern Territory coming fifth. Congratulations to Rachael and Amanda who represented the NT as the competition. The Dragonflies uniforms where designed by Darlene Devery, Henbury’s AIEW. Darlene said, “The design represents players who are individuals but go places when they unite, travelling from different communities to travel the same path.”
RUOK Day
What a busy morning at the Café on Friday. We had visitors and staff purchase coffee, frapes and baked goods all towards ensuring that we check in with each other to see if we ‘RUOK’. We must remember to do this regularly, not just on RUOK Day. Thank you to Janine who made biscuits for staff. A big thank you to Dawyte for coordinating the Coffee Crew on this day, to spread the message. We raised a total of $154.

Blue 2
Well we have had a very busy Term 3 with so much going on. First up we had a new teacher for five weeks, Tamlyn and she was great! Alison came back from the UK after nearly 6 months away.
We also went to Camp Batchelor which was so exciting! For some of us it was our first school camp. There were so many different activities to join in on, we were so tired when we came back to Darwin.
Paul joined bucket drumming and surprised everyone with his rhythm talent.
MISSING CLOTHES
One of our students has lost his brand new Broncos t-shirt and black/grey palm tree board shorts during camp. His name should be written on the t-shirts on the tag inside the side seam near his waist. On the shorts it would be where the back pocket is attached to the shorts or on the tag.
Please check your child’s school bag or camp gear in case they were placed in their belongings. Below is a picture of the missing clothing.
