BLUE 2
Blue 2 has had a big start to 2018! We’ve been working hard to get to know one another and doing some fun activities as well.
We’ve been doing a bit of cooking and can make some pretty tasty cookies.
We love going to Blue 1 for Music Jam every Tuesday afternoon and listening to the songs and playing along.
NIGHTCLIFF MIDDLE SCHOOL OUTREACH
Cooking /Eating
By Torie and Roanin
We cooked and ate nettle crumble slice and ate French omelette but we had to make it from scratch as well as the nettle crumble slice. It tasted delicious!
Location of Australian States
By W.T. and J.A.
This is a picture of Australia it was known as the Commonwealth of Australia. It is a Federation divided into six States and two Territories. Each of the States has its own capital to represent themselves and that including our own Territory. There is one capital that represents our country the Australian Capital Territory. Our nation is not that powerful but we have allies like the U.S.
Sporting Activities
By Trinidey and Jamal
Every morning we play sports in the outdoor hall. We play dodge ball and soccer and tip and skipping and exercise. I likes playing soccer and dodge ball and tip, Jamal loves playing soccer. I have trouble with skipping but I am getting there, Jamal hates doing ‘burpees’ but he like’s star jumps.
STAFF PROFILE – KATIE COLE
Hi my name is Katie and I’m the new Blue 2 teacher! I moved up to Darwin at the end of last year and am having a great time getting to know the staff and students at Henbury School. I like to bake biscuits and cakes on the weekend as well as swimming and bike riding. Thank you all for being so welcoming and friendly!
STAFF PROFILE – ROGER CAMPBELL
After nearly 9 years at Henbury I am putting my profile in the newsletter. I am 66 and originally from England. I left England in 1972 with the intent to travel to New Zealand and catch up with my brother who left when I was quite young. My intention was to stay 12 months and return to my job in London in advertising at my brother’s studio where we built film sets for TV ads.
I decided to travel overland with 2 mates and a Land Rover; we ditched the Land Rover in Istanbul and did the rest with trains and buses on the hippy trail though Iran, Afghanistan, India etc. We separated in Thailand and my mates went to Singapore on route to Perth and I took to Indonesia entering Sumatra by fishing boat in the night, enjoying everything in Java. I arrived in Bali and fell in love with it. I had to sell most of my belongings to afford a ticket to Darwin.
Arriving in Darwin with $10.50 and not knowing anybody, but I did take up the offer of permanent residency from the immigration chap at the gate.
I have been in construction most of my life having a cabinetmakers workshop and swimming pool builder and registered builder. I have lived in Darwin most of this time and live with my finance of 43 years in Rapid Creek and enjoy our home. I played tennis competition for many years and golf and painting weird stuff.
When I get time, fishing is my best love but others would say it’s TRAVELLING.

This is achieved through a busy week-long calendar of activities, but also time spent together to develop friendships and express themselves in a safe and very supporting environment.
All camp fees and transport to the camp is supported by Variety NT.
Applications have now opened and will close 1st May, 2018. There are only 11 spots available so it is recommended that interested children apply early.
