Henbury School is a Northern Territory Government School which provides innovative and individualised programs in a friendly, caring and secure learning environment.

Our Students

Henbury School caters for students from Year 7 to Year 12 with a mild/severe intellectual disability. Eligible students are enrolled after a formal assessment by an educational psychologist.

A comprehensive integrated curriculum is delivered across all areas of our school. The curriculum is designed to maximise the development of independent living skills, communication, socialisation and mobility in a stimulating environment which instils a sense of achievement and enhanced self-esteem. In the later years, programs are facilitated to encourage independence and promote positive pathways to post-school options.  Students are actively involved in varied leisure programs, volunteering and work skill experiences.

Our Staff

Our team of dedicated teachers, Special Education Support Officers, specialists and therapists work together to promote an optimum learning environment, allowing each student to progress within their own Educational Adjustment Plan. All teachers have a strong commitment to Special Education and ongoing professional development.
